Account Deletion

You can request the deletion of your meStory account and its associated personal data at any time, under the right to erasure set out in Article 17 GDPR. At present, the process is initiated by email; we're working on an in-app deletion option.

1. How to request deletion

Send an email to privacy@getmestory.com, from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Account Deletion". We use your account's email address to verify the requester's identity, as a safeguard against fraudulent requests.

2. What gets deleted

We permanently delete your profile, email address, encrypted password, choices made within stories, reading progress, and any other content directly tied to your account's identity.

3. What we retain and why

We retain, in anonymized form and disconnected from your identity, transaction and billing records, for the period required by Romanian accounting and tax law (up to 10 years), under the legal obligation set out in GDPR Art. 6(1)(c). These records can no longer be used to identify or contact you once the deletion request is completed.

4. Processing time

We process deletion requests within a maximum of 30 days of receipt and send you an email confirmation once completed.
